Guidelines for Good Driving

- Always remember to wear a helmet while driving a two-wheeler and fasten your seat belt when driving a four wheeler.
- Reduce your speed when approaching an intersection.
- Follow the prescribed speed limits.
- Pay attention to the road when you are driving. While driving, please don’t engage in other activities.
- Be courteous to other road users.
- Give pedestrians the right-of-way on Zebra crossing.
- Use indicator lights when changing lanes or negotiating a turn.
- Ensure regular preventive maintenance of your vehicle. Breakdowns on road can be dangerous.
- While driving always carry your driving license and other important documents such as your Vehicle Registration Certificate, Insurance Certificate, Pollution Under control Certificate etc. Please check these documents regularly for their validity.
- Watch your tyre pressure regularly.Under inflated tyres increase rolling resistance, which increases fuel consumption.
- Use Rear-view Mirrors while turning, lane changing or stopping.
- Follow the traffic signals and road signs.
- Always stop before the STOP LINE at traffic intersections when you see a red traffic light or when a policeman signals you to stop.
- Don’t mix drinking and driving.
- Don’t talk on your cell phone while driving.
- Drive steadily. Avoid accelerating or decelerating unnecessarily. Anticipate stops, curve etc. to avoid sudden braking and prevent wastage of useful energy.
- Drive in the proper gerar to save fuel and prevent wear & tear of vehicle. Follow the manufacturer’s recommendations in this regard.
- Use clutch only when you change gears. Riding the clutch causes loss of energy and damage clutch-lining.
- Always release the handbrakes when starting youe vehicle.
- Plan your route in advance and avoid rush hours to save time and fuel.
- Use car pools. Looks for people going in the same direction and share your car with them to help reduce the road congestion.
- Before you start on a trip, ask yourself following questions:
Is this trip really essential?
Can I use Public Transport for this trip?
Can I combine this trip with other trips in the same direction?
Goa Minor Rape Case

The Russian minor rape case which has raised serious safety concerns for foreign tourists visiting GOA still continues to be the point of discussion. Russian government has warned India, that it is concidering issuing travel warning advisory to all the Russians scheduled to travel to Goa from hereon. It also blamed the Goa police for not acting quickly on the case to nab the culprits.
In the latest development, Anil Kumar Raghuvanshi co-accused has been arrested by Police from Bus Stand. Goa Police now hunting for the main accused. The main accused Aman Bhardwaj still absconding. Anil Kumar Raghuvanshi is the friend of the main accused Aman Bhardwaj.
Fog in Indian capital New Delhi, 9 flights cancelled

Fog hits Delhi hard again with Air & Rail early morning services cancelled or delayed.
Thick fog in Delhi since early morning. MET department has warned about more fog in next few days.
Thankfully the Delhi runway visibility has been improving and the passengers stranded at the Airport might be able to fly in next couple of hours.
Lal chowk gun battle enters 20th hour

Over 10 guests rescued from the terrorist attack at Lal Chowk. Terrorists are hurling grenades at the security personnels who have been trying to get close to the site.
Terrorists have holed up in Punjab hotel near CRPF camp. Police CRPF storms the srinagar hotel where the 2 terrorists are hiding. 2 people have already lost lives and 9 injured in this terrorist attack on Srinagar’s Lal Chowk.

Rahul Gandhi confirms that pilot was not forced to land in zero visibility

Rahul Gandhi sidelined all the controversy after his helicopter landed in poor visibility at Sitapur in Uttar Pradesh on Monday, Dec 7.
In a press conference held later Rahul Gandhi said being a pilot he is absolutely aware of the dangers of flying in low visibility conditions. The pilot has not broken any rules and the media was creating controversy and putting the pilots job in trouble.
We have not put any pressure on the pilot. It was done completely according to procedure. Not once have I broken security rules. There was plenty of visibility when the helicopter landed.
Lahore High Court: No reprieve to Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi

Lahore High Court on Thursday rejected Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi’s two petitions. Lakhvi who has been alleged the mastermind of 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
While rejecting his two petitions, the Rawalpindi bench of the Lahore High Court directed the Anti-Terrorism Court to consider Lakhvi’s objections against his indictment under provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code.
Lakhvi’s lawyer Sultan Ahmed claimed that the prosecution did not have any incriminating evidence against him. He also said the statement given to the Indian authorities by Ajmal Amir Kasab, the lone surviving terrorist, was not admissible in the Anti-Terrorism Court.
The next hearing of the case will be in the Anti-Terrorism Court in Rawalpindi’s high-security Adiala jail on Saturday.
Now per second billing plan from MTNL too

In reply to the Tata Teleservices, Bharti Airtel and Reliance Communications launching per second billing systems, here the state-run telecom service provider Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) Tuesday announced per second billing plane for its 2G and 3G customers in the Delhi and Mumbai circles.
According to the new plan all calls made within the MTNL network will be charged half paisa per second, while calls to other networks across the country will be charged one paisa per second.
SMS rates have also been reduced to 25 paisa for local, Rs.1 for national and Rs.2.50 for international messages.
MTNL will also provide video calls across its 3G network for one paisa per second.
NSG commandos offered 26/11 terrorists, a chance to surrender

The National Security Guard (NSG) commandos handling the Taj and the Trident Hotels had told the terrorists that they would get a fair trial, but, “the terrorists refused and replied with bullets.”
The terrorists were cornered at Taj and Oberoi hotel. J K Dutt, who was the chief of the National Security Guard, during 26/11, communicated with the terrorist directly through the hall voices resound and made an offer to surrender but the terrorists refused their offer . The terrorists replied with a string of abuses in Punjabi and other than that, there was shooting and hurling of grenades.
Dr APJ Abdul Kalam in bollywood movie?

Yes!! The former president of India, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam is all set act in a Hindi movie titled ‘Mein Kalam Hoon’ (‘I am Kalam’).
The movie is produced by SMILE Foundation, set in Rajasthan. It tells about a young boy who is inspired by the former President and Kalam’s mantra ‘Great Dreams of Great Dreamers are always transcended.
Actor Gulshan Grover is also acting in this film. The movie will be directed by Madhav Pandeya.
Pakistan court has filed charges against the accused behind the Mumbai attacks.

A Pakistani anti-terrorism court has finally declared Lashkar-e-Taiyba commander Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi,as the mastermind behind the Mumbai attack a day before its 26/11 anniversary.And the court formally charged seven men suspects, including Lakhvi, with planning and helping execute the Mumbai attacks.
The court also declared 16 people, as proclaimed offenders including the only surviving terrorist Ajmal Amir Kasab. He was captured alive during the 26/11 strikes. And now he in Mumbai jail .The crew members of the two boats that ferried the 10 attackers to Mumbai are among them, sources said.
Anti-terrorism court Judge Malik Muhammad Akram Awan, who is conducting the trial at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi for security reasons, framed the chargesheet against Lakhvi, Zarar Shah, Abu al-Qama, Hamad Amin Sadiq, Shahid Jamil Riaz, Jamil Ahmed and Younas Anjum.
Pakistan court was registered case against seven accused in February, but trial has moved slowly. Its last protest was voiced last week after India’s repeated frustration over the non seriousness of Pakistan in bringing to book the perpetrators of the 26/11 attacks.
The court also rejected the bail pleas of some of the accused. Their lawyers Shahbaz Rajput said all seven pleaded not guilty and alsi said that the charge taken against the accused were without any powerful evidence.
