E-cigarettes or Super Cigarette

The Electronic Cigarette has been developed in China by Hon Lik of Ruyan is gaining in popularity in India among smokers who want to give a shot to quitting without getting rid of their nicotine fix.

In June 2008, Chennai-based SPK introduced E-Cigarettes in India, that provides a nicotine kick to smokers but has no cancer-causing ingredients.
The E-Cigarette is a non-flammable device that consists of a tiny rod that is longer than a real cigarette, and comes with a replaceable cartridge that contains liquified nicotine, propylene glycol, tobacco flavor, and a membrane to hold the ingredients. The E-Cigarette also has a small rechargeable battery that allows nicotine to be converted into vapor with each inhalation.

It has got a sensor present in the E-Cigarette.It detects the air flow when a smoker takes a puff and a microprocessor injects tiny small drops of liquified nicotine, which gets vaporised.

It’s vapour dissipates fast and has no smell. To make the mist look like normal cigarette smoke, ethylene glycol is used. The tip of the E-Cigarette glows red to mimic traditional cigarettes, using an orange LED.

The ingredients of E-Cigarettes – propylene glycol, nicotine, and tobacco scent – are non-carcinogenic agents. The Food and Drug Administration gives a clean chit to propylene glycol. Nicotine, on its own, is harmless and can be found in staple food such as pepper, tomato, eggplant and potato. The E-Cigarette has been certified by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)  and The European body called Restriction of Hazardous Substances (ROHS).
*Recent analysis Finds Toxic Substances in Electronic Cigarettes
Electronic cigarettes contain traces of toxic substances and carcinogens, this has been raised after a preliminary analysis by none other than FDA.

Suzuki introduced the Grand Vitara in 2003, with a powerful V6. Suzuki then came out with the all new Vitara in 2007 equipped with a 2.0 litre inline-4 unit.

The Grand Vitara has in its new looks, the bulging wheels arches now flanked by bigger 225 section 17 inch tyres add a lot of macho appeal to the car. The 2.4 now also sports roof rails which add a sporty touch to the car. Rest of the car is pretty much the same barring the 2.4 and VVT badges. Which is a good thing since the Vitara is quite a handsome looking vehicle. The competitors for this model are the Mitsubishi Outlander and the Honda CR-V. The layout of the dashboard remains the same, but there are some welcome additions in the form of climate control, an all new trip computer and an in-dash 6-CD changer.
A bigger engine, slightly more weight coupled with full time 4WD is bound to take a toll on the fuel efficiency. However, the figures the GV spewed out are pretty much par for the course. Under city conditions the GV sipped a litre of fuel every 7.3 km, while on the highway the figure went upto a decent 11 kmpl. With a 66 litre tank, the Vitara manages a good 541 km before you visit the next petrol pump.
