Update on British Airways cabin crew strike

Good news for British Airways travellers as BA officials have announced that they have beeen able to expand their flight schedule up to 30th March 2010 because of the increased numbers of their cabin crew now wishing to work as normal.
The website claims that BA would fly more than 75 percent of customers booked to travel during this period despite unjustified strike action.
BA has now published the shorthaul flying schedule for 31 March and 1 April and are expecting to operate a normal shorthaul schedule from 2 April.

Jet Airways Special Offers for women travellers on International Womens Day in March 2010

Knife scare on Delhi – Colombo flight

A 12cm knife was found in the toilet of the Kingfisher flight flying from Delhi to Colombo. As per the latest information, the knife was found in the toilet during a stop-over at Chennai this afternoon.
Flight took off towards its destination Colombo after it was checked and cleared. Meanwhile, both Airline and Airport authorities are probing the incident.
Mumbai Airport : 6hour Maintenance on Tuesdays till March 2010

Mumbai airport begins a major upgrade today. One of the Mumbai airport runway to remain cloased for 6 hours today for maintenance.
The runway will stay closed for 6 hours on every Tuesday starting today for next 22 weeks. Maintenance will continue till 8th of March on 2010. Over 100 flights is set to be effected by this maintenance. This maintenance will increase the flights handling capacity of the airport.
Jet Airways and Jetlite has already announced rescheduling of its to and fro flights for Tuesdays from Mumbai Airport.
Air France plane crashes into Atlantic

Air France confirms the Airbus A330-200 with 228 people (214 passengers & 12 crew) on board has almost certainly crashed into the Atlantic. Plane hit heavy turbulence over the Atlantic. Plane could have been hit by lightning.
Several of plane’s mechanisms malfunctioned and the Plane sent out automatic signals for the electronic faults. The Air France Flight 447 lost contact within 4hrs from its take and it couldn’t contact Paris airport.
Planes from Brazil & France searching for the wreckage site. 2 each from Spain, France, England & Morocco on board. French President Sarkozy has said, there is no hope of any survivors and he couldn’t believe this mishap has happened.

Fly cheaper now to London with Jet Airways

India’s premier international airline, Jet Airways, has introduced special fares to London from several Indian cities. The fares are effective for travel from 11 May, 2009 to 30 June, 2009.
There are attractive offers from Jet Airways airlines for return Economy fares to London. To avail of these fares passengers must complete their booking by May 31, 2009.
* Mumbai London economy return base fare would now cost Rs 11,990 /-.
* Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Pune London via Mumbai economy return base fare would now cost only Rs 11,990/-.

All Jetlite flights from Delhi to depart from Terminal 1D

All Jetlite passengers traveling on JetLites domestic flights from Delhi have been informed that flights will now depart from Terminal 1D.
The passengers may enter from Gate 5 to 8 for departures and the check-in locations are:
- Première guests, JetPrivilege Platinum / Gold members can Check-in at Row F
- Guests travelling in Economy class can Check-in at Row G
- Guests travelling on JetLite can check-in at Row H
Domestic check- in closes 30 minutes prior to departure. The Arrivals still continues to be at the current terminal i.e Terminal 1C .
Spicejet Flights departing from Terminal 1D

All SpiceJet flights has started departing from the new terminal 1D, effective 13th May 2009 . The SpiceJet Officials has requested Passengers to reach well in time and check-in at least 2 hours prior to the departure time of the flight.
The New Terminal is also located at the same Indira Gandhi International Airport Domestic 1D Terminal which is within approximately 300 meters of the Terminal 1B.
American Airlines issues Flu Travel Information

AA would like to reassure our customers that American Airlines is carefully monitoring the H1N1 flu outbreak in Mexico and other locations. Our medical experts also continuously review recommendations by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to help ensure the safety and health of our passengers and employees, and we take actions as appropriate. The WHO advises no restrictions of regular travel or closure of borders. The CDC is also not recommending that people avoid travel, only that they avoid non-essential travel to Mexico at this time.
American Airlines has a special policy in place allowing flexibility for our passengers who have plans to travel to or from Mexico through May 31, as stated below.
Date changes for the same cities as originally ticketed: One ticketed change is allowed, and no change fee will apply as long as the original booking inventory is available.
