Mumbai Airport : 6hour Maintenance on Tuesdays till March 2010

Mumbai airport begins a major upgrade today. One of the Mumbai airport runway to remain cloased for 6 hours today for maintenance.
The runway will stay closed for 6 hours on every Tuesday starting today for next 22 weeks. Maintenance will continue till 8th of March on 2010. Over 100 flights is set to be effected by this maintenance. This maintenance will increase the flights handling capacity of the airport.
Jet Airways and Jetlite has already announced rescheduling of its to and fro flights for Tuesdays from Mumbai Airport.
Delhi Domestic Departure Terminal 1D

Brand new domestic departure terminal has raised the capacity to 10 million passengers per year of domestic departures. Terminal 1D located between the existing domestic arrivals and terminal 1A domestic departures. The new terminal is almost double the size of terminal 1B spread across 35,000 square metres. Passengers gets dropped at the upper level of the two-storey structure. Terminal 1D has a four level in-line baggage handling system. Passengers can now simply walk up to the check-in counters, deposit their luggage, and collect the boarding card.
Terminal 1D has 72 check-in counters across eight rows. There are 16 boarding gates have been provided to facilitate the customers transfer to the coaches. There is a special “contact zone” service near the entrance to the terminal to provide facilities for travellers with special needs and unaccompanied minors. The new Terminal 1D is complete WiFi Zone for the customers.
