Review: Cinemax Pacific Mall, Subhash Nagar Movie Theatre
Jul 2nd
Cinemax Theatre stands upto the reputation of the fast catching Pacific Mall, Subhash Nagar. The Theatre has got six screens and has got nice setup. During my visit i booked for the cheapest ticket avaialble i.e for 12pm show at Rs 100 per ticket for Executive class seats. Out of the six screens, hall 5 & 6 appears to be having slightly smaller screen than their other screens. I was booked in Audi 5, a nice and cosy theatre which had a seating for around 70 odd people. Reasonably big screen and very good sound system. Songs from Salman Khan’s movie READY were sounding great and i felt like dancing sometimes.
The washrooms, snack counters, staff and the facilities makes it almost the best value for money option. With SPAR HYPERMARKET in the basement, it provides additional option of shoppping some household stuff with family, after one watches the movie.
Review : Movietime, Pacific Mall, Pitampura, Delhi
Oct 3rd
The visit today to Movietime Pitampura gave a mixed taste. The only good thing was that unlike other theatres in Delhi, it doesn’t hit your pocket hard. I visited today to watch the Rajnikanth starrer Robot (ENDHIRAN / ENTHIRAN). As the theatre was not so popular among the movie watchers, which i later figured out why, getting a ticket was very easy as soon as i walked into the counter. A ticket here costed only 300 for two people. The ticket also included a Rs 50 coupon for a free coke & popcorn combo.
Though the Movietime theatre looked neat from inside, the Mall was a mess. With dust, dirt, broken window glass pieces and on top of that the AC doesn’t operate in the Mall area. So one doesn’t have AC until you are allowed to enter the theatre (which is only 10 minutes before the movie starts). I was surprised to see a Mall in such a bad state with not even a single shop operating in a Mall which gets descent crowd during weekends.
When we entered the Audi, the Hall looked promising. Good AC, descent screen size, good sound system and descent seating. There was little bit of foul smell inside the Audi which got fixed when a theatre boy sprayed freshner all around the Audi.
Like the movie and theatre was good only in the first half. Towards the end of the movie, i realised that the AC was switched off half an hour before the show ended. This made it very difficult to sit there until the end of the movie.
The exit from the theatre is horrible. The exit door’s leads to the dirty stair cases which has not been cleaned for ages. There was a huge pile of waste piled up, on the exit staircases. The walk further till the exit on the Mall is shear mess and adds to one’s agony.
