American Airlines issues Flu Travel Information
AA would like to reassure our customers that American Airlines is carefully monitoring the H1N1 flu outbreak in Mexico and other locations. Our medical experts also continuously review recommendations by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to help ensure the safety and health of our passengers and employees, and we take actions as appropriate. The WHO advises no restrictions of regular travel or closure of borders. The CDC is also not recommending that people avoid travel, only that they avoid non-essential travel to Mexico at this time.
American Airlines has a special policy in place allowing flexibility for our passengers who have plans to travel to or from Mexico through May 31, as stated below.
Date changes for the same cities as originally ticketed: One ticketed change is allowed, and no change fee will apply as long as the original booking inventory is available.
